SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY TRACK RUNNER SCHEDULED TO APPEAR FRIDAY, MARCH 12, ON “PRICE IS RIGHT”

           SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Kim Smith, a freshman sprinter on the Slippery Rock University women’s track and field team, is scheduled to be one of the contestants on “The Price Is Right” television game show airing Friday, March 12 on CBS-TV.

           Smith, a native of Girard and graduate of Fairview High School, is in California with her teammates to compete in a pair of competitions.

She was selected from the studio audience in attendance at the show’s taping on Monday, SRU head track and field coach John Papa said.

“The Price Is Right,” now in its 31st season, is the longest running game show in television history. The March 1, 2004, show was the 6,000th in the show’s history;the first show aired on September 4, 1972. The show is hosted and directed by Bob Barker, the winner of 12 Daytime Emmy awards.
