ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWS OF CANDIDATES SCHEDULED

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The presidential search committee at Slippery Rock University has scheduled11 days of on-campus interviews beginning April 20 for six candidates for the university’s presidency.

They will spend the next day-and-a-half touring campus and meeting with various campus groups, including members of the president’s cabinet, deans, union leaders, departmental chairs, campus directors, alumni, trustees and community leaders. Members of the university-at-large, including students, faculty and staff as well as interested community residents will be welcomed to meet the prospective president at either of two, one-hour open sessions.

The open sessions are as follows:

The McKay sessions will be held in the building’s auditorium and the University Union sessions will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Following conclusion of the campus interviews, the search committee, composed of faculty, staff, students, union representatives, trustees and state system representatives and headed by SRU Trustee Kenneth Blair, will recommend three of the six for final approval by the SRU Council of Trustees. Council’s recommendations will then be passed to Dr. Judy Hample, chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, and ultimately to the state system’s board of governors, which makes the appointment of all system university presidents.
