ROCHESTER, N.Y., COUNCILMAN TO JOIN SRU PANELFOR DISCUSSION OF EFFECTS OF HIP HOP

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – A panel, including Rochester, N.Y., Councilman Adam McFadden, will discuss “Hip Hop and Its Effects on Culture” in a 7 p.m. Tuesday [April 20] program that is part of Slippery Rock University’s “Hip-Hop Week” events.

The session will be held in the University Union’s Multi-Purpose Room with McFadden, Eva Nzingha-Moorhead, a slam poet and student at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, and Nkaiso Akpabio, producer of the “Wake Up Show” on WAMO-106.7 FM radio, along with SRU students from various organizations, will participate in the panel.

The program, sponsored by SRU’s Office of Intercultural Programs, is designed to provide the campus community the opportunity to engage in dialogue about the effects and influences hip-hop has on modern society.

McFadden was elected to council last November and has been long involved in tracking cultural changes.
