The Russell Wright Alumni House was dedicated in
the fall of 1998 as a place Slippery Rock University alumni can
call their “home” on campus.
Since that time, use of the house has grown
tremendously. More alumni, faculty, staff and students use the
facility than ever before for a variety of meetings, events and
reunions. Because of all this use, the alumni office finds itself
at a crossroads-either turn people away or expand the house to
accommodate more people. The Alumni Association Board of Directors
feel we should invest in the latter. But we need your help.
The Russell Wright Alumni and Conference Center
will be a welcoming friendly place for alumni and friends to relax
and visit when returning to campus. The Center will also be a
showcase for the university, and a place where alumni can take
their sons and daughters to introduce them to the university's
history, traditions and achievements.
Throughout the year, space for alumni and campus
activities is at a premium. The Alumni Meeting Center will include
much needed banquet facilities, comfortable social areas and
meeting rooms for alumni, university and community functions.
The Alumni Conference Center will provide
alumni, the University and the business community with a
much-needed modern conference facility, offering the latest in
presentation technologies. This state-of-the-art center will
include wireless Internet connections, interactive SMART Board
systems, remote conferencing and a full-range of audiovisual
capabilities.
