Literature
Degree Requirements (Spring
2006):
Proficiency at the 103 level of a modern
language or the equivalent is required for the Bachelor of Arts
degree. Exemption by placement is possible. The modern language
courses that are used to satisfy the Bachelor of Arts degree
requirement may not be used in the Humanities and Fine Arts area of
the General Studies Curriculum or the Enrichment area of the
Cultural Diversity-Global Perspective area of the Liberal Studies
Curriculum.

1Students pursuing the B.A. in English Literature as their
first major must elect the specified options-e.g. Eng 220 and
480-to complete their degree. At least three credits of the six
required elective credits must be taken from the Eng 242, 243, 244,
246, 316 sequence; the three remaining elective credits may be
satisfied by taking any English course beyond the 100 level. 39
TOTAL CREDIT HOURS REQUIRED.
2Students pursuing a B.S. in Secondary Education with
certification in English must elect the specified options-Eng 204,
331, 332, 333, 305, 307 and ELEC 312- in order to fulfill
certification requirements. 42 TOTAL CREDIT HOURS
REQUIRED.
