SLIPPERY ROCK FARMERS MARKET SELLS
FRESH PRODUCE EVERY SATURDAY
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.
–The Slippery Rock Farmers Market, organized by SRU
graduate students, is open for the 2004 season. Locally produced
vegetables, eggs, meat, herbs, breads and honey will be sold 9 a.m.
to noon each Saturday in the Java Rock Café parking lot on
Franklin Street.
Other items include plants and
soaps. Patricia Redshaw, a certified massage therapist, will offer
five-minute sessions for a fee.
Approximately
a dozen vendors are participating this season, says Kim Musler, a
sustainable systems graduate assistant and market manager. She and
other graduate students at the Robert A. Macoseky Center for
Sustainable Systems Education and Research organized the
market.
The market is also accepting new
vendors. Questions or inquiries can be directed to the
