News Advisory

Slippery Rock University’s status as a national hub for helping people with disabilities enters the spotlight Thursday and Friday [June 17-18] when 34 children with visual impairments or blindness -- from Pittsburgh, Erie, West Virginia, Toledo, Ohio and Philadelphia – participate in Camp SportsVision. Children ages 8 to 18 will try their hand at taekwondo, dancing, rock climbing and a special sport called goalball, which uses a ball with a bell.

The best photo opportunities for rock climbing, dance and goalball are 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Robert N. Aebersold Student Recreation Center.

Wrestling and swimming are scheduled for 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. both days in Morrow Field House.

If you plan to staff any of the events or need directions, please call 724-738-4854.
