SRU DANCE DEPARTMENT TO OFFER SATURDAY SESSIONS FOR CHILDREN

             SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The dance department at Slippery Rock University will offer an 11-week series of Saturday dance classes focused on teaching, exploring and learning for children ages 3 to 12 beginning Sept. 11.

          Classes in creative dance for pre-kindergarten-age students will be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. with a $50 tuition. Creative dance for kindergarten through first grade will be offered from 10:15 to 11 a.m., with tuition at $60; and those age 7 through 12 interested in tap and jazz dance styles will find a one-hour class begins at 12:15, with a $70 tuition. The day’s final class, which open at 1:30 p.m., is in intermediate tap and jazz and carries a $70 tuition.

          The program is non-competitive and will include an informal studio show (no costumes required) will be held for parents and friends at the end of the session.
