Ralph Colangelo (1974) B.A. in Spanish, has great memories of the Department of Modern Languages and SRU…SRSC in those days. He continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania, and earned a post baccalaureate certificate in Occupational Therapy in 1976.  Currently he lives in the Boston area and is the Administrative Director of Rehabilitation and Ambulatory Care Services at New England Sinai Hospital and Rehabilitation Center. He has been impressed to watch the development of both the Department of Modern Languages as well as the Physical Therapy Program at SRU over the years. Regina Jeannette. (December, 2005) BSED in Spanish is teaching Spanish at Mt. Pleasant Area High School. This is her first year, and she absolutely loves it. (updated 10/19/06)

Tracy Sherman. (December 2004) B. A. Spanish moved to Silver Spring MD in June of 2005 with SRU International alumni. She works in the office of a leading wholesale bakery in DC. They make bread for most major hotels & restaurants in the area, even the White House and US Capitol from time to time.  The workers & delivery drivers all are native Spanish speakers (mostly from El Salvador) and it's her job to communicate messages and directions to them as well as place orders for customers. One of the owners is from Mexico.  In her spare time, she helps the workers learn English and would like to get certification in teaching English as a second language.(updated 10/19/06)

Vincent Celender (December 2005) B. A. French has been awarded a work-study scholarship at the Collège International de Cannes. He will start in January 2006.

Katie Roemele (December 2005) B.A. Spanish - International Business will be working as a translator for the Drug Enforcement Agengy of the FBI.

Kayla Whipkey (May 2005) B.S. Education-Spanish is teaching Spanish at Bohemia Manor High School, in Chesapeake City, Maryland. She moved there the beginning of August and started teaching a week ago. The school and students are wonderful - She is having a wonderful time!

Katie Snedeker (2005) B. A. in French is working in Cagnes-sur-mer for a year in a French Lycée teaching English to French students and practicing her French.

Lisa Banyas, (May 2004) B.A. in Spanish is working for VISTA at the New Hampshire Technical Institute since August 2005.

Carrie Eakin, graduated in May 2004 with a B.A. in Spanish and was accepted in the graduate program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is pursuing a Master's Degree in TESOL(Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

Jorrell Kemp, graduated in May 2004 with a B.A. in Spanish. He is currently living in Madrid, Spain and working as an English teacher in Alcalá de Henares.

Robert Fagley, graduated in May 2000 with a B.A. in French and is working on his Ph. D. in French Literature at the University of Pittsburgh. He is an editor of the literary review  Ancrage.

Patricio Ferrari, graduated in May 1999, with a B. A. in French and a B. A. in Philosophy. He obtained the French Licence in Comparative Literature in 2003 and he successfully defended his Master's Thesis in Comparative Literature at the Université de la Sorbonne-Nouvelle in Paris, France in September 2004. He is now preparing a doctorate in Comparative Literature. He will go to Portugal in 2005.


Charles Grove, graduated in 1990, completeted a Ph.D.  in applied linguistics at the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently Associate Professor of languages and linguistics and coordinator of the foreign language certification program at West Chester University.
