SPOTLIGHT

LETTER TO SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

Subject: Update on Presidential Search

As Chair of the Presidential Search Committee, I am very pleased to provide this brief report on our progress to date.

The search committee continues to work diligently in consultation with our search consultants and has completed preparation of the presidential search profile (http://www.sru.edu/president/Pages/sProfile.aspx) prepared for potential candidates. We invite you to help in identifying promising candidates and sources.

The position description will be advertised nationally beginning August 1. Moving forward, the committee has scheduled its next meeting for September 8 to prepare screening instruments and review interview questions. Off-campus interviews for semi-finalists are scheduled for mid-November, and on-campus interviews for finalists will be scheduled early February.

A presidential search webpage is available for viewing on the SRU website at (http://www.sru.edu/president/Pages/PresidentialSearch.aspx ) with updates of search activities so we may keep you informed of our progress. The webpage includes periodic updates on the search itself and also includes SRU information for potential candidates.

Your suggestions and feedback may be directed to our search consultants via email at
c.bunting@storbeckpimentel.com or v.henderson@storbeckpimentel.comor by phone at 610-572-4296.

I appreciate the work of the search committee and have confidence that we will find the right person to lead Slippery Rock University into our next era of excellence.
