
Slippery Rock University’s President’s Commission on the Status of Women is pleased to announce “Girls Rock at STEM” to be held on the Slippery Rock University Campus on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 9am – 3pm.
This first year program is designed to introduce freshman – junior females to careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The daylong event will include the opportunity to spend time in various laboratories and interact with faculty and students in the sciences. Additionally, there will be sessions with Admissions, Financial Aid and Career Services. Participants will receive breakfast and lunch as well as a T-shirt. Please note that participants are responsible for their transportation to and from the SRU campus.

The program is limited to 24 participants, who will be selected based on their responses to two short essay questions:
- Describe a scientist who has inspired you.
- Why I want to participate in “Girls Rock STEM”.
