The university will increase the level of students of color participating in the programs and services provided by the Center for Student Leadership. Solicit feedback from minority students regarding programs and leadership opportunities to ensure that services are inclusive. (SL)

BASELINE    
Minority/international student participation rate in freshman leadership was 9%. Minority student participation rate for Student Ambassadors was 0.

UPDATE  
Minority/international student participation rate in freshman leadership increased to 17 13%. (calculation error identified via 2005 audit.)  Minority student participation rate increased for Student Ambassadors to 12%.

For 2005-2006, minority students’ participation rate in freshman leadership decreased to 6%, (6.7% in 2004-2005); Minority student participation rate for student ambassadors increased to 25%, (14.3% in 2004-2005).

For 2006-2007, minority students participation rates in freshman leadership increased to 7.7% (6% in 2005-2006).  Minority students participation rate for student ambassadors decreased to 8.3% (25% in 2005-2006).

For 2007-2008, minority students' participation rate in Freshman Leadership increased to 38% (7.7% in 2005-2006), minority student participation rate for Student Ambassadors increased to 30% (8.3% in 2005-2006); minority student participation rate for the Student Government Association was 6.8%; minority student participation rate for the executive board of the University Program Board was 62.5%; minority student participation for Greek Life was 6.6%, results based on needs survey given to the entire Greek community. For 2008-2009, minority students’ participation rate in Freshman Leadership, down 8%. Minority student participation rate for the Student Ambassadors was 28.5% of membership, a slight decrease from 30% last year. Minority student participation rate for Student Government Association was 15% of elected membership, an 8.2% increase.  Minority student participation rate for the executive board of University Program Board was 75%, a 12.5% increase.

For 2009-2010, minority student participation rate for the executive board of University Program Board was 50%, down 25% from last year.  Minority student participation rate for the Leadership Peer Mentor Program was 17%, a 13% decrease from last year.  Minority student participation rate for SGA was 40% of elected membership, a 25% increase from last year.
