 Performing Arts Facility  



Secure $12 million in private support to construct the SRU Performing Arts Center by 2012.

All gifts and pledges designated for the Performing Arts Center

2005-2006: No gifts or pledges received as of June 30, 2006; planning began and study team named.

2006-2007: Anonymous commitment of $4 million to support the Performing Arts Center was secured with first gift in fulfillment of this pledge ($228,720) received in December 2006; total gifts and pledges for the project was $4,030,290 as of 6/30/07.

2007-2008: Performing Arts Center Steering Committee authorized a feasibility study involving 50 individuals that was completed by Marts & Lundy in September 2007. New vice president hired, timeline, volunteer structure, and prospect pool determined. An additional $5,000 gift was received for the project in November 2007.

2008-2009: Major gift prospect identification and cultivation continued.  Additional activities were placed on hold pending determination of matching funds from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

2009-2010: This project shifted from construction of a new facility to renovation of Miller Auditorium.  Plans are being developed to generate charitable gift support in the amount of $5.5 million for this capital initiative.
