Mission of the CBISS Student Advisory
Board
The College of Business, Information, and Social Sciences'
Student Advisory Board (CBISSSAB) is the primary source of student
advice to the Dean of the College. It plays a central role in
the nomination of faculty for various awards, and it recommends
students to serve on several vital committees. The CBISSSAB
also provides recommendations for student co-curricular activities
such as a speaker's bureau, supplemental funding for student
activity trips, and other related student issues, initiatives, and
activities. In representing students, the Student Advisory
Board combies the opinions of students with sound research and data
to develop proposals and recommendations to the Dean of the
College.
The board consists of up to three representatives from each
department in the college, selected by the chair of the department
or director of the program. Representatives hold their
positions for one academic year.
