Business
A. Report from
IT-Dean Lindey
1. Dean was unable to attend;
however, sent word through Russ Dively regarding the following
matters. Phone project is scheduled to be finished in three
weeks. Be on the lookout for his staff to field any remaining
problems or concerns. Also, Dean will be contacting those
individuals who may be eligible to replace some equipment obtained
from Tech Fee grants.
B. Report from
Collegis – Russ Dively
1. Blackboard version 6.3 will soon
be tested. Russ is unaware of any drastic changes from the
previous version with the exception of a content system. This
is in addition to the learning and community systems currently in
place. A practice server will soon be established with fake
courses. The content system, still under consideration for
purchase, would allow access to student content across courses and
to some outside entities, providing a type of
e-portfolio.
2. 5.5 server is going down at the
end of February. Individuals should make sure to archive
files locally if they have not already been copied over to the new
version. If anyone needs help with this task contact Russ
Dively.
C. Report from
Technology Advisory Committee – Bette Joseph
1.
Committee has passed an internet usage policy and this should be
available to campus in the near future.
2.
Distance learning subcommittee has been formed.
3.
Technology Fee grants: Faculty will need to determine two
student representatives
4. Tech
Fee RFP has gone out
D. Taskforces -
Paul Mullins
1. Grants taskforce - has awarded 5
grants: 1 campus wide, 1 , and
3 professional development
2. Blackboard taskforce –
Barely tapping into the potential uses of Blackboard. Russ
Dively has established a fake profile to demonstrate some of the
varied uses. Blackboard tabs can be used, for example, to
link career services, sports scores, and movie times. This
profile can be accessed by using, other, as both username and
password. Keep in mind hyperlinks are
fake.

New Business
A.
Citrix Server – Paul suggested submitting a grant application
for tech fee proposal relating to the Citrix Server software
application presented at Faculty Development Day by Dr. Henry
Magusiak and Dr. Deborah Whitfield. Tech Fee proposals are
due at the end of March, therefore quick action needs to be taken
on this matter. If anyone is interested in working in a
collaborative manner to see this project through please contact
Paul Mullins at x4850. For basic information regarding Citrix
see November 9, 2004 TLTR meeting minutes, these can be found on
the TLTR website under meeting summaries.

Program
A. Dr.
Joanne Leight and Brett Slezak- PE: Digital Video in the
Classroom
Dr. Joanne Leight and Dr. Kathryn Davis
received a grant through TLTR last year for the Integration of
Digital Video technology. The grant was used to purchase
software and equipment necessary to use digital video software with
digital camcorders that would enable physical education teacher
candidates to analyze human movement in a variety of ways. As
well as provide a means of digitally enhancing the portfolios of
these candidates. Brett Slezak, sophomore and honor student
worked with Dr. Leight to determine the appropriate equipment and
has helped to set up the equipment in the basement of BSB.
Today, Brett is here with Dr. Leight to present his recent work
with these digital video tools that he used to develop a
presentation for North Allegheny Parents Night. Brett also
presented a video he made of himself rock-climbing in order to
analyze his movements. Dr. Leight and Brett’s
presentation provided a glimpse into how digital video can be
utilized in the classroom. And two clear examples of the
array of uses for digital video.
