ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION PLANS ‘PACE’
EXERCISE PROGRAM AT SRU’s AEBERSOLD CENTER
SLIPPERY
ROCK, Pa. – PACE -- People with Arthritis Can Exercise
-- the Arthritis Foundation’s land exercise program for
people with arthritis, will be offered in an eight-week program at
Slippery Rock University’s Aebersold Student Recreation
Center. Pace is a recreational series of gentle movements and
activities designed to increase mobility and range of
motion.
This program
will be conducted by a certified PACE instructor and is available
to anyone with arthritis. Pre-registration is necessary and
enrollment is limited.
Classes now
under way continue through June 28 with one-hour sessions held at 9
a.m. Tuesdays. Cost of the entire program is $5. To register or
learn more about the class, call 724-738-4800.
One in three
Americans is affected by arthritis. The foundation supports
research to find ways to cure and prevent arthritis and seeks to
improve the quality of life for those affected by the condition.
The Arthritis Foundation, Western Pennsylvania chapter, is a United
