INDIVIDUAL TICKETS FOR
ROCKAPELLA’S SEPT. 17 CONCERT
AT SLIPPERY ROCK
UNIVERSITY GO ON SALE SEPT. 1
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.
– Individual tickets go on sale Sept. 1 for
Rockapella’s Sept. 17 concert at Slippery Rock
University’s Miller Auditorium. The five-man vocal group,
featured on the “Tonight Show with the Jay Leno,”
blends soul, rock, rhythm-and blues and jazz.
The
group’s 7:30 p.m. appearance -- the first of its 30-stop fall
tour -- corresponds with SRU’s Family and Friends Day and is
the first event of the new ING Performing Arts Series at
SRU.
Rockapella
tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for those 17 and under and 62 or
older, and $7 for SRU students. To buy tickets, contact SRU Public
Relation’s Office, 201 Old Main, Slippery Rock, Pa. 16057.
Payment may be made by check, payable to the Slippery Rock
University Foundation, Inc., or by credit card. Please include a $3
handling charge for the entire order, not per ticket. The
concert is general seating.

Since 1992, Rockapella has released 15
albums and toured throughout the U.S. and Japan. Thea
cappella group was the house band for PBS's “Where in
the World is Carmen Sandiego?” and recently appeared on
NBC’s “Jane Pauley Show.”
ING Performing
Arts Series
SRU and ING, a global institution of Dutch
origin, will sponsor the following events at SRU: Conductor Marvin
Hamlisch on Dec. 1; the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company on Jan. 20 and
political satirists Capitol Steps on April 1. All begin at 7:30
p.m. in Miller Auditorium.

tickets
A subscription to the arts series reserves
a seat for the first four events at a 15-percent discount.
Discounted rates are $52 for adults, $44 for senior citizens and
children, and $22 for SRU students. Contact SRU’s Public
Relations Office to buy a subscription.
Junie B. Jones
musical adaptation, May 19
SRU
will also present a colorful musical adaptation of the Junie B.
Jones books at 7 p.m. May 19 in Miller Auditorium. Tickets are $6.
This event, for families with young children, is not part of the
ING Performing Arts Series subscription. Call
