TLTR Meeting Minutes

April 14, 2005

Attendance:

I.       Old Business

A.    Report from IT-Linda Passauer

1.   Currently working on storage array network and associated problems with e-mail.

2.  Phone system remains an on-going project.  Most recently call centers were established for:  admissions, financial aid, academic records, and the help desk.

3.  Other projects IT is currently working on include networking the residence halls with phones, cable TV, and wireless internet.

B.    Report from Collegis – Russ Dively

1.  Some Blackboard passwords for faculty have been reset, if unable to login; try old password, d.o.b., or use ‘forget password’ link and make a new password.

2.  Blackboard upload of summer course shells is scheduled to occur next week, students will be continually updated throughout the add/drop period.

3.  Russ introduced Brian Danielson, a second Full-Time staff member from Collegis who started at SRU this week.  Russ and Brian will be working together.  Brian’s e-mail is:  brian.danielson@sru.edu

4.  Russ has developed an on-line course for teaching on-line.  The course will run for 2 weeks.  If anyone is interested in taking this course please e-mail Russ Dively.

C.    Report from Technology Advisory Committee – Bette Joseph

1.  TAC has not met since the last TLTR meeting, therefore nothing new to report.

D.    Taskforces - Paul Mullins

1.  Technology Grant Taskforce awarded approximately 6 or 7 grants…look to see presentations related to these grants in the fall.

II.      New Business

A.        Citrix Server – “Phase 1 Campus Software Access System: Providing Flexible Access to Computer Software for All Students” Grant report has been completed and is available.  Please contact Paul Mullins for information. 

B.        Middle State Accreditation Self Study was discussed.  Specifically, the following questions were posed and will be discussed/addressed in the future: how does TLTR represent faculty formally on campus?  Does TLTR committee want more involvement? 

C.        Elections:  Joanne Leight from the Physical Education department was elected to TLTR 1st year co-convener.

D.        Personal note:  Bette Joseph after years of service to the students, faculty, staff, and SRU community is retiring.  She thanked all in attendance and stated that she “valued everyone’s friendship, support, and wisdom.”  She also requests to be kept informed.
