II. New Business
A. Nancy
Cruikshank from Grants Office discussed TLTR’s RFP (Request
for Proposals) which is posted on Grant’s office webpage as
well as available through TLTR co-conveners. The purpose is
to promote technology here on campus. TLTR’s RFP
includes three categories for submission:
Category
1: Campus wide teaching and learning technology projects
(i.e. “Turn-It-In”) up to $8,000
Category
2: Teaching and learning technology projects up to $5,000
Category
3: Professional Development up to $1,000

III. Program
Frank Hulick presented on Securing Wireless Networks.
Three important steps Frank emphasized that can make a wireless
network more secure are: do NOT broadcast SSID; enable
wireless MAC address filtering (Media Access Control); and data
encryption!
Next meeting is Tuesday November 3, 2005 in
Eisenberg Auditorium!
