How to make a nickname file in Eudora from R072 and R075
screens
This is a common COPY and PASTE operation
- With the mouse move the pointer to the top left e-mail
userid.
- The pointer must be at the leftmost character of the first
e-mail userid.
- Hold down the left mouse button and drag the pointer to the
bottom of the e-mail userid list.
- Still holding down the left mouse button, drag the pointer to
the rightmost column of e-mail userids.
- You will now see a rectangle drawn around all of the e-mail
userids.
- The commas after the userids are important - include them in
the rectangle.
- Release the left mouse button.
- Click on EDIT then COPY
- Your e-mail addresses have been copied to the clipboard.
- You are finished with this screen. Minimize or close this
window.
- Start up Eudora
- Click on TOOLS then NICKNAMES.
- Click on NEW.
- Enter a
NICKNAME.
(This will be the name of your list, your choice)
- Move the cursor to the ADDRESSES window.
- Click on EDIT then
PASTE.
(Data is pasted from the clipboard)
- Your userid list should appear.
You may add your own userid to the nickname file. Then when
you send e-mail to the nickname you will be assured of delivery
when you get a copy in your own mailbox.
When you want to send mail to this group of students just use
the nickname of your list on the "bcc:" line. The recipients
of the e-mail will not see their name or anyone else when you use
"bcc:" which means "Blind Complementary Copy"
You may leave the "To:" line blank.
