ALUMNI WEEKEND FOR SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY
GRADUATES SET FOR JUNE 15-17
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.
– Slippery Rock University alumni – including
97-year-old Helen Miller of Sewickley, a Class of 1931 graduate
– will return to campus June 15-17 for the annual SRU Alumni
Association-sponsored “Alumni Weekend.”
Festivities kick
off at 5 p.m. on opening day for the Class of 1957 observing its
50th class reunion.
Alumni from other
years and as far away as California will begin check-in on June 16
with the day’s major events, including the noon Annual
Women’s Athletic Golf Scramble. A “Mardi Gras”
picnic will be held at 5 p.m. at the Alumni Pavilion near Jack
Critchfield Park.
Current and retired
SRU faculty and staff are invited to join alumni and the general
public for the Musicians’ Concert Band at 8 p.m. performance
in Miller Auditorium and the post-concert reception set for the
Russell Wright Alumni House. The concert is the first under the
direction of newly named band leader Jeff Kroner, an SRU graduate
and an original member of the band.
The weekend’s
major event, the “All-Alumni Reunion Luncheon,” will be
held at noon June 17 in the University Club of North Hall. For
reservations or other details on the weekend, call the Office of
Alumni Affairs at 724-738-2018.
