SRU CHILD CARE CENTER OFFERING SUMMER CAMPS FOR CHILDREN

     SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University Child Care Center is offering Monday through Friday summer programs with half-day camps for children ages 3 to 5 and full-day camps for those ages 6-12.

     The “Mad Scientists” camp runs July 31-Aug. 4 offering experiments and showing how the world works. A visit to the SRU Planetarium is also part of the program.

      “Sports Fanatics” will be offered Aug. 7-11 offering participants a chance to try their hand at different sports, including the SRU swimming pool, and “Spotlight on the Arts” is set for Aug. 14-18 with SRU music, dance, art, writing and theater students sharing their talents. Students will be involved in puppetry, theater performance, painting, origami, jewelry making, sculpture, creative dance and writing, music, and computer generated art among other topics.

     The fee for young children is $55 per week, including snacks. The full-day fee is $118 per week, including snacks and lunch.

     The state-licensed center is operated by SRU’s Student Government Association and is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs.
