SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.
– Slippery Rock University’s homecoming weekend,
set for Oct. 20-21, features a homecoming pep rally and concert
with the Poverty Neck Hillbillies, a traditional homecoming parade
through downtown Slippery Rock and the SRU football team taking on
Lock Haven University.
The football game
is set for 2 p.m. Oct. 21 in N. Kerr Thompson Stadium following the
10 a.m. parade from the Giant Eagle Parking Lot to Main Street and
ending at the university. The day’s other athletic contest

Opening events for
the weekend, under the theme “ROCKtoberfest,” include a
6 p.m. Oct. 20 pep rally, featuring the SRU football team,
cheerleaders and Marching Pride, under the direction of James
Berry, assistant professor of music. The rally, complete with
