Tickets available at the door for Feb. 7 concert
by Pittsburgh Symphony Pops at Slippery Rock
University
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Tickets will be sold at the door when
the Pittsburgh Symphony Pops performs 8 p.m. Feb. 7 at
Slippery Rock University’s Miller Auditorium. The concert will
feature music interpreting well-known figures in literature,
including Romeo and Juliet.
Daniel
Meyer, resident conductor for the Pittsburgh Symphony, will conduct
the 8 p.m. concert in Miller Auditorium. The complete program

are $25 for adults, $22 for those 62 and older and 17 and under,

Meyer,
who selected the pieces, is known for creative programming and a
passion for connecting with audiences. He recently developed a new
series of Tiny Tots concerts based on the popular children’s books
to promote music and literacy.
The Pittsburgh Symphony Pops appearance is one of the events in the
Slippery Rock University Performing Arts Series. The first two
concerts sold out. The Duquesne University Tamburitzans will appear
March 30, followed by “Seussical,” a special event for families May
20. Tickets are available for these performances.
The
Pittsburgh Symphony Pops and residence project is partially
supported by a grant from Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour, a
program developed and funded by the Heinz Endowments; the William
Penn Foundation; the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts; and The Pew
Charitable Trusts, administered by Mid-Atlantic Arts
Foundation.
