Kickoff Event
The Slippery Rock chapter of CETP-PA will be hosting a kickoff event on October 14, 2004 starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Alumni House at Slippery Rock University. Brief presentations will be made on continuing education opportunities available for area teachers. The topics include the middle school and elementary mathematics certification programs, a proposed middle school science certification program currently in development by the Chemistry and Physics department, and M.Ed. programs in the College of Education. Following the presentations, representatives from the various disciplines will be available for discussion and/or questions.
Future Teachers Conference
The Future Teachers conference will take place on October 15, 2004, an event where high school students will explore teaching opportunities at Slippery Rock University.
CETP-PA Summer Conference
The CETP-PA summer conference was held on August 18-20, 2004 at Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
Western Region Conference
The Third CETP-PA Western Region Conference was held on April 27, 2004 at Westmoreland County College, Youngwood from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Missing Women: Physics and Gender
CETP-PA helped sponsered a presentation by Laura McCullough, Ph.D.Assistant Professor, Physics Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout entitled The Missing Women: Physics and Gender.
Orbital Laboratory--Seeds Project
March 31, 2001 - Orbital Laboratory places students in control of an actual experiment to run on the International Space Station. This project addresses how life grows in space and will be the ground control for the experiment to run on the International Space Station. The space shuttle will carry the experiment to the space station in the April 19th launch. NASA has created a web site for all information regarding the plants to be recorded and analyzed. Data will be gathered from grade 5-8 classrooms across the United States.
Luncheon Discussion Series
