Slippery Rock University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor in the Exercise and Rehabilitative Sciences Department beginning August, 2009.
Qualifications: Ph.D. required in Adapted Physical Activity or related field. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations. Successful performance in an on-campus interview, including teaching demonstration is required. Prior teaching experience preferred. Prior experience working directly with individuals with disabilities in physical activity field is preferred.
Responsibilities: Teach in dynamic, undergraduate and graduate adapted physical activity programs within the Department of Exercise and Rehabilitative Sciences. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in the undergraduate minor and in the Master of Science degree programs. Additional responsibilities include supervision of practica site programs with individuals with disabilities, undergraduate and graduate academic advisement, and departmental, college, and university committee responsibilities, and internship supervision.
