Health Care Informatics
Health care is a technology-embracing industry. Hospitals, clinics, and assisted-living facilities need workers who understand both computers and health care. The Health Care Informatics Program at Slippery Rock University merges these two fields. The unviersity offers both an interdisciplinary minor and a post-baccalaureate certificate in Health Care Informatics. Many of the courses are offered through web-based distance education. |
Track I - designed for students who are interested in health care and computers, but do not have a major or degree in either field.
Track II - a fast track designed for students who are majoring in or have a degree in a health-related field. Some examples include nursing, community health, and health services administration.
Track III - a fast track designed for students who are majoring in or have a degree in a computer/information science related field. Some examples include computer science, information systems, and information technology.
