The Slippery Rock University Office of
Admissions appreciates the trust you share by providing information
and knows that you care how information about you is used. The
following describes our privacy standards.
In general, The Office of Admissions will treat
personal data in a manner consistant with the Family Educational
Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The SRU Office of Admissions will
not sell, give nor provide any personal information you submit to
any party outside the University for other purposes.
The SRU Office of Admissions may obtain
information about you in the following ways: through information
you provide either via self-service from this web site, activities
or other contacts you have with us, through third parties who share
information you provide to them and allow them to share with us
such as the The Collegeboard (SAT) or your high school guidance
staff, and we may combine these sources as your admissions
data.
The SRU Office of Admissions will communicate
with you through a variety of sources, including the traditional
hard copy mail, e-mail, and a limited number of telephone calls in
order to convey the educational opportunities available through
Slippery Rock University. Please make an effort to maintain a
current e-mail address and mailing address with us.
Our data is maintained in secure data base
servers and we utilize Verisign for on-line financial transactions.
Please be advised that it is the practice of the Office of
Admissions to not open any e-mail containing attachments for
reasons of anti-virus management. Unless admissions staff knows
with complete certainty the authenticity of the originating source
and that the message is virus free, any e-mails with attachments
will be deleted in an unopened state and senders will not receive a
