SRU’S UPB TO BRING POP BAND ‘GOO GOO DOLLS’ TO CAMPUS NOV. 10

     SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Goo Goo Dolls, once called “America’s best known, unknown band” has been playing across the USA gaining success for the past eight years, and Nov. 10 will play an 8 p.m. concert on the Slippery Rock University campus.

          The SRU visit, part of the band’s  “Gutterflower Tour 2002” is designed to promote their latest CD of the same name. The visit is sponsored by SRU’s University Program Board. Tickets to the concert, set for the Robert N. Aebersold Student Recreation Center, are $15 for students, $25 for the general public, and may be ordered by calling 724-738-2104.

     The band includes John Rzeznik on guitar and vocals, Robby Takac on bass and vocals and Mike Malinin on percussion.

     Singer Lisa Loeb will be the opening act.
