Dr. Strano is experienced in several areas: teaching counseling, publication of research, and grant writing. Prior to his appointment at SRU, he taught in the Counselor Education Program at the University of New Orleans. In addition, Dr. Strano was the Manager of Clinical Services and Training at the Office of Counseling Services at the same university.

He has also served as the Director of Alcohol/Drug Prevention Education; Assistant Dean of Students for Special Services; and has provided counseling through several private practice arenas.Dr. Strano's research publications have appeared in several refereed journals. Dr. Strano serves as a Center associate for the Higher Education Center for Alcohol, and other Drug Prevention.
