SRU HEALTH AND PHYSICAL
EDUCATION STUDENT SELECTED ONE OF TWO STATE REPRESENTATIVES FOR
NATIONAL CONFERENCE
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock
University’s Kelly Campbell, a health and physical education,
teaching, major from New Wilmington, recently served as one of two
students to represent the commonwealth at the four-day American
Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance
National Student Leadership Conference held in Jackson Gap,
Ala.
In
talking about the 100-student conference, Campbell says, “The
program included leadership lectures and activities for those
involved in AAHPERD, including how to make meetings run more
smoothly – and be more interesting. The sessions outlined the
roles of leaders within the profession, and it gave me lots of
ideas to bring back to campus. It was neat because I got to meet
people with passions.”
Campbell,
who will graduate in December, is completing her student teaching
at the elementary and high school in Farrell this
semester.
AAHPERD
has more than 23,000 members -- professionals and future
professionals. The organization links members to current
information in health, physical education, sport and
recreation.
