SRU STUDENTS PLAN WINTER COAT DRIVE TO BENEFIT NEW CASTLE’S EAST SIDE RESIDENTS

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University’s Institute for Community, Service-Learning, and Nonprofit Leadership is organizing a “Neighborhood Warm-Up” winter coat drive to benefit less fortunate families in New Castle’s East Side community.

Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to bring unneeded coats to Room 204 Spotts World Culture Building or the Robert N. Aebersold Student Recreation Center by Dec. 3. The coats will be sold for $1 per bag on Dec. 7 at the institute’s “I Care” house at 602 Court St., New Castle.

All proceeds will benefit seniors in New Castle’s Lower East Side Neighborhood who may not be able to leave their homes during the holidays.
