Slippery Rock University
will excel as a caring
community of
Lifelong Learners,
connecting with the world.
   Message from our Dean

The division of Lifelong Learning oversees, integrates and develops initiatives in adult and continuing education, career development, business industry and community workforce training and education.  The primary responsibility is to expand the university’s educational opportunities to adults and employers within the university’s service area and among alumni.

Lifelong Learning is comprised of six departments:  Alumni Relations; Career Services; Center for Lifelong & Community Learning, Downtown Slippery Rock; Office of Continuing Education; McKeever Environmental Learning Center; and the North Hills Center .  Current initiatives within those departments are:  Business Industry Training; Institute for Learning in Retirement ; Regional Learning Alliance (RLA) at Cranberry Woods ; Project Freedom for Disabilities; Pennsylvania State Workforce Training Grants – Wednet and CJT (Customized Job Training).

Our mission is to deliver educational services beyond the boundaries of the campus, develop the North Hills operation into a major educational force in Western Pennsylvania, and expand internet capabilities and its technological capacity to serve the needs of any constituent without regard to their location.
