MAINTENANCE OF GRASSY AREAS POLICY

Purpose |
|
The purpose of this policy is to maintain all
grassy areas to an established grass height and
condition.
|
|
Objective |
|
Campus grassy areas are used for a variety of
purposes including competitive and recreation sports fields,
general lawn areas, and meadows.
|

Policy |
|
Competitive sports fields
| 1. |
Grass height is maintained at a cutting height
of 1 3/8”.
|
| 2. |
Weather permitting, fields are cut on a weekly
basis, or when grass reaches a height of 2
1/4’’.
|
| 3. |
Field marking is completed as per a master
schedule provided by the Athletic Department. Additional or
re-scheduled events require a work order.
|
Recreational sports fields
| 1. |
Grass height is maintained at a cutting height
of 1 3/8”.
|
| 2. |
Weather permitting, fields are cut on a weekly
basis, or when grass reaches a height of 2
½’’.
|
| 3. |
Field marking for all camps is completed as per
a master schedule provided by the Athletic Department.
Marking for all other events requires a work order.

General lawns
| 1. |
Grass height is maintained at a cutting height
of 1 3/8”.
|
| 2. |
Weather permitting, fields are cut on a weekly
basis, or when grass reaches a height of 2
½’’.
|
Meadows
| 1. |
Grass height is maintained at a cutting height
of 2 ½’’ to 3’’.
|
| 2. |
Weather permitting, most meadows are cut on a
weekly basis. Certain low use areas are cut on an annual
basis.
