The purpose of the Student Health Advisory Board (SHAB) is to improve communication between the student body and the Student Health Services and provide students an opportunity for input into their health care system.
The functions of SHAB include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as a liaison between students and the Student Health Services.
- Obtaining and providing student opinion concerning health care and health care funding including the evaluation of health services, fees, and programs and the University's Accident and Sickness Insurance Program.
- Recommending the development of new programs and services offered by Health Services.
Representation:
- Members of SHAB represent a cross section of SRU student organizations and individuals.
- Professional input is also provided from the Student Health Services, the Counseling Center, and the Health and Safety Department.
