ANNUAL ‘PRISM CONCERT’ TO
BRING MUSIC UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –
“Music-in-the-Round” will be the theme when the
Slippery Rock University music department presents its annual
“Prism 2003” concert helping support two department
scholarships.
The
4 p.m. March 23 concert will be held in Miller Auditorium featuring
various SRU ensembles, trios and quartets along with singing and
jazz groups. The performers will mix-and-mingle with the audience
performing from the auditorium’s floor.
Proceeds
benefit the Kate Brennan Music Education Scholarship Fund, named in
honor of the retired department chair, and the Sue Shuttleworth
Music Therapy Scholarship Fund, named in honor of the assistant
professor of music.
Minimum
donations of $5 for the public and $3 for students will be
collected at the door. Donations exceeding the minimum are tax
deductible.
The
program is organized by Stacey Steele, assistant professor of
music.
