Major: Philosophy (30-39
credits)
To meet differing needs of students
there are three tracks which students may pursue towards a
degree in philosophy
Specialization: Professional Major
A 39-credit major offers an
intensive concentration in philosophy. Primarily for students
seeking a career in philosophy with the intention of continuing
their studies in graduate school.
Specialization: Liberal Arts Major
A 30-credit major which encourages
students to focus on philosophy tailored to another academic
interest in 1) humanities and fine arts, 2) social and behavioral
sciences, 3) natural sciences and mathematics
Specialization: Career-Related Major
A 30-credit major which allows
students to design a program of philosophy courses primarily to
complement the student's preparations for a specific career. This
generally involves a double major, one in Philosophy and one in the
field of specialization.
Minor of

The choice of tracks
and courses within them should be done in consultation with a
member of the Philosophy Department.
