A KALEIDOSCOPE ARTS FESTIVAL EVENT –

KORESH DANCE COMPANY TO PERFORM SATURDAY AT SRU’S MILLER AUDITORIUM

               SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Renowned for its powerful stage presence and high energy, Philadelphia’s Koresh Dance Company will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday [May 3] in Slippery Rock University’s Miller Auditorium. Tickets are available at the door for $5; $3 for students.

               Founded in 1991 by Israeli-born choreographer Ronen Koresh, the troupe presents an exciting blend of ballet, modern and jazz molded into a style of choreography that is both eloquent and explosive.

               Koresh Company performances feature an eclectic repertoire of work by Koresh as well as guest artists such as world-renowned choreographer Donald Byrd and Brian Sanders of Momix. In each performance, Koresh dancers strive to offer their audiences a balance of dark and intense, lighthearted, and sensual pieces.

         The company's acclaimed work attracts a continually increasing audience across the nation, and Koresh's reputation for passion and outstanding technique regularly results in sold-out performances, according to its Web site. The company presents bi-annual, home-season concerts, and performs on tour at various national festivals, performing arts centers, university performance venues and charity benefits.

               The performance is the grand finale of “Kaleidoscope,” the university’s annual arts festival.  Speakers, concerts, comedy acts, a Civil War re-enactment, a quilt showcase and outdoor sculpture exhibit have established Kaleidoscope as a fun-filled event for the whole family, as well as a tourist attraction.
