Her work in Evidence-Based Decision Making has been recognized recently:
· In 2007 she was asked to be a member of an Evidence-Based Management Collaboration that is being formed and sponsored by Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business and the Heinz School of Public Policy and Management, Pittsburgh, PA. The purpose of this collaborative is to close the gap between management research and the ways practitioners make managerial and organizational decisions and educators teach organizational behavior, theory, strategy and human resources management.
· In 2006 her co-authored chapter in Hamric, Spross & Hanson was used as a guide for the development of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s Essential of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice, specifically Essential #3: Clinical Scholarship and analytical Methods for Evidence-Based Practice.
· In 2006 she was asked to be a sentinel reader for McMaster Online Rating of Evidence (MORE) for Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN).
Her publishing and presenting has focused on Evidence-Based Decision Making:
· An evidence-based research column in Home Health Care Management and Practice journal.
· In 2008 a revision of the Research Competencies chapter the APN text entitled:
A.B. Hamric, J.A. Spross, & C.M. Hanson (eds.), 4th ed., Advanced nursing practice: An
integrative approach. Philadelphia: W.B. Saunders Co.
· Chapters related to Evidence-Based Practice in several oncology texts.
· Keynotes recently at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL and Rocky Mt. University of the
Health Professions First Annual EBP conference in Provo, UT.
· Workshops for faculty to convert their teaching to evidence-based
· Workshops for managers to role model evidence-based decision making
She is in the process of developing a partnership with several academic/life coaches and this partnership will focus on assisting junior faculty with achieving promotion and tenure and doctoral students with completing their dissertations.
