DAYLONG ‘PROCUREMENT OPPORTUNITIES
FAIR’ PLANNED OCT 22
SRU’S GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING
ASSISTANCE CENTER IS CO-ORGANIZER
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – A“Procurement
Opportunities Fair 2003,” offering marketing opportunities
for regional companies interested in pursuing government and
corporate contracts, is being organized by Slippery Rock
University’s Government Contracting Assistance Center, in
conjunction with the California University of Pennsylvania’s
Government Agency Coordination Office. The 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. fair
will be held Oct. 22 at the Holiday Inn Meadowlands, Washington,
Pa.
The
program is funded by grants from the Sarah Scaife Foundation, the
Defense Logistics Agency and Dominion
People’s.
Federal,
state and local government agencies, corporations, regional service
organizations and area businesses will staff some 65 booths. Those
attending will be able to meet individually with company
representatives to discuss possible contracting or subcontracting
opportunities as well as gather information from organizations that
providea variety of business assistance
services.
Participants will include NASA,
Wright Patterson Air Force Base, 911th Airlift Wing, the
Internal Revenue Service, Mine Safety Appliances Co., U.S. Postal
Service, Department of General Services, Michael Baker Corp.,
Mascaro Construction Co., Bechtel Bettis, Washington County,
Allegheny Energy, State Correctional Institute – Fayette,
Allegheny County Department of Public Works and the Office of
Surface
Mining.
