    A.    Report from Information Technology - Dean Lindey
        1.    Updating Blackboard from blackboard 5 to blackboard 6 this summer
             - Will have 24/7 Help Desk support for the new Blackboard for students and faculty
        2.    Everyone should have a new phone system by Fall 2004

II.    New Business
    A.    New Collegis - Russ Dively
        1.    Information Technologist
        2.    Worked at East Tennessee State University for 5 years
        3.    Teaching online courses in Instructional Design
        4.    Working with Amanda Yale setting up workshops for faculty teaching FYRST

    B.    Technology Advisory Committee - Melba Tomeo
        1.    Formed according to:
             - Instructional Technology Plan
             - Information Technology Strategic Plan
        2.    Different from TLTR because TLTR, although open to everyone, is primarily for faculty and does not represent the entire campus
        3.    Four Standing Members
             - Dean Lindey/ Information Technology
             - Russ Dively/ Instructional Technology
             - Carrie Birckbichler/ Academic Resources and Planning
             - Carl Miller/ Administrative Information Systems and Technologies
        4.    Representatives from 4 colleges, ALA, and 4 administrative units
        5.    Purpose is to recommend and analyze technology needs and priorities to President and his Cabinet
             - Sub-committees include: web policy, student technology fee, distance education, telecommunications and networking.

    C.    Taskforce Updates
        1.    Computer Literacy Taskforce - Looking for interested persons
             - Contact: Paul Mullins x4850
        2.    Information Literacy Taskforce - Jane Smith currently working on a statewide grant proposal to implement SAILS, an assessment tool
        3.    Plagiarism Taskforce - State System is looking at purchase of turnitin.com, plagiarism software program, for all.
        4.    Copyright Taskforce - Looking for interested persons

             - Copyright Conference in June

    D.    Personal Technology Assistant - Chrissy Le
        1.    Help Desk created a multimedia studio for faculty to learn to use video editing in the User Services area
        2.    Contact the Help Desk for an appointment to learn how to operate equipment

    E.    Sympodium Demonstration - Dean Lindey
        1.    Sympodium - A flat panel monitor that runs the same software as a Smartboard does, allowing onscreen annotation, etc.
             - Cost is much lower, approximately $3000 compared to $14,000 for Smartboard
        2.    Software (Smart Pointer) - Provides the same capabilities as Smartboard with a cost of approximately $40

III.    Program
    A.    Cathy Brinjak and Connie Laughner, from Academic Support Services, Demonstrated FYRST resources on Blackboard
        1.    The Blackboard site was created to help teach the FYRST Seminar, providing a resource tool for all instructors
        2.    The FYRST seminar workshop focused on teaching strategies and approaches rather than actual course content.  Includes information on time management, study skills, icebreakers, and many campus resources.
        3.    To see the workshop content and all the resources provided, logon to blackboard under username-generic and password-generic.
