grant proposal to implement SAILS, an assessment tool

Taskforce - State System is looking at purchase of turnitin.com,
plagiarism software program, for all.

Technology Assistant - Chrissy Le
1. Help
Desk created a multimedia studio for faculty to learn to use video
editing in the User Services area

Demonstration - Dean Lindey
1. Sympodium
- A flat panel monitor that runs the same software as a Smartboard
does, allowing onscreen annotation, etc.
- Cost is much lower, approximately $3000 compared to $14,000
for Smartboard
2. Software
(Smart Pointer) - Provides the same capabilities as Smartboard with
a cost of approximately $40

Brinjak and Connie Laughner, from Academic Support Services,
Demonstrated FYRST resources on Blackboard
1. The
Blackboard site was created to help teach the FYRST Seminar,
providing a resource tool for all instructors
2. The
FYRST seminar workshop focused on teaching strategies and
approaches rather than actual course content. Includes
information on time management, study skills, icebreakers, and many
campus resources.
3. To
see the workshop content and all the resources provided, logon to
blackboard under username-generic and
password-generic.
