NEWSPAPER AT SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY NAMES 2004-05 EDITORIAL
BOARD
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Rocket, the
multi-award-winning weekly student newspaper at Slippery Rock
University, has selected Kim Dishler, a communication major from
Rochester as editor-in-chief for the coming academic
year.
Dishler
previously served as an award-winning reporter on the
newspaper’s staff. This year’s Rocket garnered nearly
30 prestigious journalism awards, including first-place honors in
the celebrated Pennsylvania Newspaper Press Association’s
10th Annual Scholastic and Collegiate Keystone Press
awards and top honors for its on-line edition.
Other members named to the paper’s
2004-05 editorial board were:
Sheryl McGlory,
a therapeutic reaction major from Severna Park, Md., news
editor;
Frank Skrip, a
communication major from Butler, assistant news
editor;
Greg Reedy, a
communication major from Kittanning sports
editor;
Mike Mallory, a
communication major from Jeannette, assistant sports
editor;
Krystle
Pellegrino, a communication major from Slippery Rock, lifestyle,
arts and entertainment editor;
Colin McGuire,
a communication major from Kane, assistant lifestyle, arts and
entertainment editor;
Margaret
Hasson, a communication major from Rochester, photography
editor;
Adam
Kemmerling, an elementary education graduate student from Slippery
Rock, assistant photo editor;
Julie Dye, a
communication major from Valencia, and Jenn Hare, a communication
major from Wexford,
as
copy editors;
Markia Mills, a
communication major from Harrisburg, and Courtney Stiles, a
communication major from North East, advertising managers;
and
Brandon Himes,
an information technology major from Duncannon, will serve as
editor of the on-line edition.
Dr. Mark
Zeltner, associate professor of communication, is the
newspaper’s adviser.
