EDITOR’S
ADVISORY
7/8/04
A quick reminder that Slippery
Rock University will open its 15th Summer Creative and
Performing Arts Academy for high school students on Monday [July
12].
The arts academy, which
runs all day and even has evening (and weekend) activities, will
see participantscommute or live on campus as they
participate in visual arts classes, jazz, dance, theater or
creative writing sessions. (A flute block has been added this
year.) Classes are taught by SRU faculty and teachers from the
region. This year’s program, directed by SRU’s Dr.
Joseph McCarren, professor of English, weaves together
self-discovery and innovative experience.
Media interested in
either of these fun feature stories are asked to call 724-738-2199
to make detailed arrangements.
