SRU’S McLACHLAN STUDENT HEALTH CENTER NAMES NEW MEDICAL
DIRECTOR, DR. DANIEL FERGUSON
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Dr. Daniel Ferguson, a
Slippery Rock physician, is the new medical director of McLachlan
Student Health Center at Slippery Rock
University.
Ferguson joins a staff of nurse practioners,
registered nurses, a health promotion specialist and student
employees. He is also the physician on hand for home football
games and adviser to the athletic training
department.
The center has a physician on staff and operates
much like a family doctor’s office, providing episodic and
wellness care, Linda Beatty, director of health services, said. She
added that good health promotes academic success.
Ferguson replaces Dr. Randy Kreider, who was
transferred by United Presbyterian Medical Center to
Clarion.
Ferguson, a specialist in internal medicine,
opened his office in Slippery Rock in 2000. He graduated from
St. George’s University School of Medicine, with residencies
at Catholic Medical Center in Brooklyn and Western Pennsylvania
Hospital in Pittsburgh.
