Dr. Rychener earned her Master of Arts and Ph.D. degrees in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with minors in History and Women's Studies from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Rychener’s research interests include: student affairs administration; the role of intercultural experiential learning in the development of intercultural competence; international education policy; women’s career advancement in higher education administration and student affairs.
Her Fall 2004 Classes include: Counseling Diverse Populations, Management in Higher Education, and Research and Evaluation. Her Spring 2005 classes include Counseling Diverse Populations, Law in Higher Education, and Student Personnel Practicum.

Dr. Rychener has worked in the field of Student Affairs since 1994.She has held positions in International Education (The Ohio State University and Carnegie Mellon University) and Residence Life (The Ohio State University).
Her teaching experience includes serving as the Faculty Director for The Ohio State University Internship Program at Lancaster University in Lancaster, United Kingdom, as a Teaching Assistant for the Administration of Higher Education and as an instructor for an undergraduate course entitled Intercultural Experiential Learning.
