FALL & SPRING PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

 

Kayak Roll Clinics:
Enjoy a night of fun in the pool while learning essential kayak roll skills.  NO experience necessary! Youth, ages 14-17, may participate in weeknight clinics when accompanied by a parent/guardian participant.
Basic Instruction is provided from 7–8:30  p.m. (Youth permitted with adult supervision) and Advanced Instruction is provided from 8:30-10 p.m.

Bike Tune Up:Outdoor Adventures, SRU Cycling Club and local bike shops team up to offer free bicycle tune ups.  Location: University Union Patio.

Caving Adventure Weekend:Learn safe techniques and practices of caving by following experience staff through the twists and turns of a cave.  Location: Casparis Caves.

Boulder Bash: Bouldering competition that provides the opportunity for climbers of all experience levels to compete against climber from other colleges and climbing facilities.  During the spring semester, the BOULDER BASH series involves weekly competitions at four or five other schools and culminates at THE ROCK. Open to climbers ages 12 or older.  Location: ARC

Collaborative Programming: Each semester, the Outing, Downhill Ski, Sea Kayaking and Cycling Clubs will be conducting trips to various locations to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities.  These activities will be advertised and open to non club members at a specific fee.  Activities will be announced as they are scheduled.

Canoe Adventure Weekend:  Learn the foundations of canoeing such as J stroke, Pry’s, draws, bracing, leaning and forward stoke while enjoying canoe camping. Location: Kennerdell

Rock Climbing Adventure: Basic instruction on rock climbing as you work your way up easy or challenging climbs Location:  McConnells Mill

Cross Country Ski / Winter Camping: Sleeping in the snow, cooing in freezing temperatures and skiing with a pack on are some of the challenges that confront a cross-country skiing backpack trip participant. Location: SRU Campground

Bike Maintenance Class: Bring your bike in for a hands on repair and tune up skills such as truing wheels, adjusting brakes, and shifting adjustments.  Parts and repair fees not included.  May sign –up until start of program at 6 pm. Location:  ARC RPM Room

Backpacking Adventure Weekend:  Join us for a fun filled weekend of hiking and camping in the Clear Creek State Forest. Location: Kennerdell
