The MAC, named in honor of Campus Recreation's first Intramural Sports Coordinator, Dr. James McFarrland, is one of four facilities under the operation of the Office of Campus Recreation.  The facility provides a variety of recreational opportunities to supplement the recruitment and retention of Slippery Rock University students while enhancing their lifestyle.  Campus Recreation uses the facility to conduct outdoor intramural sports and sport club games and practices as well as to supplement their auxiliary budget through facility rentals, camps and sports leagues.  The MAC, which opened in the spring of 2009, consists of two softball fields, four multisport fields, an exercise pathway, (all of which are lighted), rugby field, disc golf course, parking lot and building that provides storage, rest rooms and concessions space.  Construction of the facility was funded ($1.3 million) though the Office of Campus Recreation.

Play is prohibited at the MAC when the RED FLAG is flying.

General MAC Rules
A. Facility Access
1. SRU student have first priority for informal recreation time.
2. Non SRU groups must reserve and pay for facility space for organized activities.
3. To secure fields, all groups must reserve facilities with the Office of Campus Recreation to have access.
4. Reservations/rental request call Campus Recreation at 724.738.4895.
5. Parking in designated areas only.
C. The following are PROHIBITED:
1. Alcohol
2. Golfing
3. Batting balls into fencing
4. Metal cleats
5. Batting practice on multi sport fields.
D. Pets must be leashed.
E. Dispose of litter properly.
F. Access prohibited in inclement conditions (Red Flag Flying).
G. Facility closed December 1-March 1
