 Gym A & B Policies and Procedures 



  1. Gym A offers four playing areas primarily for basketball, volleyball and badminton on a first come, first served basis with the exception of regularly scheduled Campus Recreation events and rentals.
  2. Gym B is a Multiple Activities Court that primarily accommodates soccer, floor hockey, and group exercise and dance classes.
  3. Changes in court set-ups must be approved and made by a Campus Recreation team member.
  4. Baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, soccer, rugby and field hockey are not to be played in Gym A.
  5. Other activities that could potentially pose a danger to others or damage facilities or playing surfaces will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
  6. Dunking and/or hanging on basketball rims is prohibited.
  7. Only clean closed-toe athletic shoes with non-marking soles are allowed.
  8. Full court play will be permitted whenever feasible. Half court play may be enforced at specific times.
  9. Challenge rules apply when courts are full and groups are waiting to use a court. Games will be played to 10 points.

ARC Academic Year Hours:
Mon-Thurs: 6am - 11pm
Fri: 6am - 9pm
Sat: 9am - 9pm
Sun: Noon - 9pm

Play is prohibited at the MAC (McFarland Recreational Sports Complex) when the RED FLAG is flying. The MAC will be closed from December 1-March 1.

When the University is on a 2 hour delay due to weather, the ARC will not open up until 10:00 a.m..
