 Student Awards & Recognition

SPOTLIGHT

The Office of Campus Recreation employs 130-160 students each semester.  Students are employed in a number of capacities and empowered to provide programming, facility supervision and leadership. The success of Campus Recreation is largely driven by their efforts. Campus Recreation appreciates and recognizes their efforts in a variety of ways.

The two primary student employee awards are the monthly Campus Recreation All Stars and the Dr. James "Gym" McFarland Award.  Each month, five student employees, one from  Aquatics, Intramural Sports, Outdoor Adventures, the Russell Wright Fitness Center and the Welcome Center, are recognized each month for their contributions to the department.  In addition, the Dr. James "Gym" McFarland Award is awarded to the outstanding student employee of each academic year.
