All currently enrolled Slippery Rock University students have access to the ARC with their SRU ID. In addition, Campus Recreation sells memberships to faculty/staff, alumni and the community. Their dependents age 15 and under have ARC access during designated hours. Memberships are also available for teens to use the building during youth hours.
The ARC is a controlled access facility. Users must present their SRU/ARC ID each time they wish to access the ARC. The Office of Campus Recreation is responsible for the operation of the facility, as well as providing programming within the facility. The programs and facility have been designed to promote positive physical, mental and spiritual health. Campus Recreation offers a variety of lifetime sports and fitness activities that provide exciting opportunities to "Rock'n Recreate."
An ARC Membership includes a number of FREE components:
A. Group Exercise: All Group Exercise classes conducted daily throughout the academic year are available to all ARC Members.
B. Equipment Orientations: Fitness Center orientations include instruction on how to correctly and safely operate cardiovascular, selectorized, plate loaded and free weight equipment. Other topics that will be covered include proper seat adjustment, movement speed, posture, breathing and muscle group isolation.
C. Exercise Programming: The RWFC Team is trained to assist members in development of individualized fitness programs. Exercise programs include guidelines for aerobic, muscular fitness and flexibility activities based upon individual goals.
D. Climbing Wall:
Students and patrons can climb the ROCK Wall during regular hours of operation of the wall, belay staff is on duty and patrons may become belay certified. Climbing wall supervisors offer a 'hands on" clinic on basic rock climbing skills. "Bouldering" is available during all operational hours.
With a SRU/ARC ID, SRU students and ARC patrons can:
